Digital Learning

Digital Learning has grown in importance in schools since the BBC Micro started to appear in the classroom in the 1980s. Over the last 20 years schools have moved into laptop or tablet programmes, developed Virtual Classrooms and got to grips with MOODLE, Google and a multitude of other platforms. Several companies are now on the scene offering services of varying quality and cost making the whole world more complex for the teacher or school leader trying to make it all work.

The world going in to Lockdown due to COVID-19 in the first half of 2020 has made the whole field of Digital Learning so much more important and mainstream.

As an educator and school leader with over 25 years of experience in schools, I will try and unpick what I think are the most important things to consider and what I have found to be the most useful apps, programmes and systems to make it work.
